Evaluation and treatment of urinary symptoms
Urinary problems occur in males and females, and can affect any age. They can vary from mild and not bothersome (such as have to pass urine soon after alcohol or a cup of strong coffee), to debilitating (such as recurrent leakage either during daily life or when asleep). Other symptoms can be troublesome such as difficulty passing urine (poor flow, straining and the feeling of incompletely emptying the bladder).Â
There can be several causes for these symptoms - including an overactive bladder (seen in both female and male patients), an enlarged prostate (often benign but sometimes secondary to prostate cancer), or other factors outside the urinary tract such as diabetes, renal, cardiac or neurological causes. Mr Forster offers a full diagnostic evaluation, investigations of all causes, and treatment options specific to each patient's needs.
